How do I sign up for a free trial class?
If you’re interested in attending a free trial class just text or call us to let us know which day and class you would like to visit.
What should I expect during my first class?
Come in 10 minutes early so you can sign a waiver.
Please inform us of any injuries, health restrictions or special accommodations ahead of time.
Wear athletic attire such as leggings or sweatpants and a t-shirt or rashguard. We can also loan you a gi to wear over your athletic attire if we have your size. Bring flip flops, slides or sandals to easily transition from the floor to the mat.
Our classes begin with a warm up followed by an introduction to the basic jiujitsu positions and concepts.
Once you feel comfortable, you will join the class and learn and apply a technique. At TANTŌ JIUJITSU we encourage you to move at a pace you feel comfortable.
Where do I park?
There are several free 3-hour parking lots close to our location. There is also paid metered parking available.
How much does it cost?
At TANTŌ JIUJITSU we offer UNLIMITED classes with our paid membership. That means you can attend classes that fit your schedule. You can come as little or as often as you’d like! We have different packages to suit your budget and encourage you to come and visit our academy. We would be happy to meet you and go over the prices when you come for a visit.
What age do you start kids?
We start kids at 5 years old and encourage them to attend our Kids Introduction Class until they become proficient in the jiujitsu basics. The Kids Introduction Class is on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.
What does TANTŌ mean?
TANTŌ is pronounced “tahn-tow” and means to forge, temper and train steel to make into a katana or sword.
